Corporate Social Investment | Retail Capital

Investing in the community.

Because the business owners of the future are the community’s children today.

We’re proud to support initiatives that uplift South African communities. Our main focus is to empower disadvantaged children who face multiple challenges on a daily basis.

Their empowerment is the best return on our corporate social investment.

We’re proud to sponsor these organisations:

The JAG Foundation
Sporting Chance
Amoyo Foundation
Darling Outreach Foundation

What do they have in common?

They impact children’s ability to learn, grow and become the best version of themselves. These foundations use sport, dance and drama as a catalyst to build confidence, discipline, and accountability while keeping children out of harm’s way and teaching them that anything is possible through commitment.

What we offer

We’re not averse to stepping in when our communities are in crisis. In the COVID-19 pandemic, we provided masks to schools and supported communities and schools with meals. After the July 2021 KZN riots, we provided food hampers. During the floods in April 2022, we provided drinking water.

In short? We aim to be a ray of hope wherever and whenever it’s needed. It’s more than good business sense: it’s at the core of what we stand for as Retail Capital.

Our other initiatives in a nutshell

Building libraries or enhancing existing libraries to ensure the calibre of literature is up to date with current school curriculum

Painting ECDs with fire retardant paint, which prevents them from catching fire and putting these centres one step closer to qualifying for government funding

Re-enforcing school paving foundation to prevent classrooms from closing down due to instability of ground structure and safety concerns of the children – we’ve helped keep five classrooms open through this

Hosting feel-good days with centres for abused and temporarily displaced children, among other institutes, and providing long-term sustainable food packs

Assisting with feeding initiatives for children, because hungry children cannot learn

Providing school uniforms and shoes to schoolchildren in need

Providing stationery to schoolchildren

Providing scholarships
